Injection therapy
Injection therapy is the use of medicines that are injected into the tissues and joint spaces. It has been used by physiotherapists since 1997.
Injection therapy can greatly improve your symptoms when used alongside physiotherapy treatment.
It can be used to treat:
- inflammatory pain from orthopaedic conditions
- muscle spams and contractions from neurological conditions
- chronic headaches from a musculoskeletal or neurological disorder.
All physiotherapists follow strict additional training and guidelines from the CSPĀ in order to be able to prescribe injections. All physiotherapists at PhysioNet Bristol have undertaken this training and are approved by the CSP to carry out injection therapy.
